Job-site safety is a major concern, we take the safety of our employees, subcontractors and the public very seriously. Our safety committee ensures that all of our employees are current with all applicable safety programs.
As a company we set a goal of having zero lost time accidents throughout the course of every project. At McClintock Electric we stress to each and every employee that job-site safety is everyone’s responsibility.
It’s this attention to safety that has earned us a high rating in the Associated Builders and Contractors Safety Training and Evaluation Process.

OSHA 10 Hour Program
The OSHA 10 hour program is an entry level safety training course that teaches recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. This 10.25 hour training course is taken by all Mcclintock field employees to ensure high standards of safety and protect our employees and clients.
Fall Protection Training
The US Department of labor statistics show that falls are one of the leading causes of occupation death. 8% of all traumatic occupational deaths occur due to fall accidents. All of our field employees are required to complete fall protection training and are required to use the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
ARC Flash & Electrical Safety
Electrical shock leads to hundred of deaths and thousands of serious injuries every year. To ensure the safety of our clients and employees, each of our employees is required to complete NFPA 70E: Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace training. We pay special attention to this safety issue and ensure compliance at every job site.
Forklift Operator Safety Training
Forklifts can be dangerous machines if the correct precautions are not taken. Going the proper speed, checking your surroundings, alerting other workers of your movements are all important ensuring the safety the both forklift operator and people in the surrounding area. We require any McClintock employee who uses a forklift to complete forklift operator safety training.
Toolbox Talks
Training our employees and following up with safety audits are an important part of our safety program, however, to truly combat potential safety issues it’s critical that every employee takes on safety as personal responsibility. To keep safety as the number one priority in each of our employee’s mind we perform weekly toolbox talks where our supervisors discuss specific safety threats and detail processes to prevent these safety issues.
OSHA 30 Hour Program
The OSHA 30 hour program building on the training from OSHA 10. This detailed program helps employees identify hazards in the work place and teaches reporting and record keeping. All of our job site supervisors have OSHA 30 hour certifications and use these practices to keep ensure the highest safety standards on our job sites.
First Aid With CPR
The first few minutes of medical aid can be the difference between life and death which is why we provide first aid and CPR training for our field employees and office staff alike. Each employee goes through practical exercises in learning how to treat various medical emergencies including step-by-step instructions for administering CPR. In addition to our mandatory First Aid with CPR training we also offer an infant first aid and CPR training to any employees who wish to attend.
Confined Space
Due to the nature of our work, our employees are often required to work in tight spaces to complete a job. Confined spaces are areas such as underground vaults, attics, manholes, or any other area where mobility is limited. We require all of our employees who will be working in confined spaces to complete the OSHA confined Space Entry Training.
Job-Site Audits
The first step to job site safety is to ensure that all of our employees are properly trained. To maintain the safety standards learned in training we perform job-site safety and health audits. We perform inspections on lifts, ladders, PPE, and any other potential safety or health risk specific to a job. These inspection are completed frequently and records are kept to ensure the highest level of safety and compliance. In Addition, our Safety Coordinator also inspects our job sites on a regular basis to ensure all safety policies are being followed.
